Inner peace & self-trust… without the overthinking
FOR INDIVIDUALS IN MARYLAND & FLORIDA
I help adults who overthink and worry about life situations to move forward & find peace.
Critical thinking has always been a strength.
But there are times when this strength starts to work against you.
When you can’t figure something out, when there are no “right” answers, or when it’s about life situations that really matter to you, you find yourself in analysis paralysis on repeat. Thinking becomes distressing, and you can’t seem to get out of your head.
What makes it trickier is that it can feel productive to go back into thinking, like you just need to think harder to get to the point where you can figure it all out and feel relief.
You worry about what you said or did in a work situation, and you wonder if you should do something else to make it right.
You obsess about what might happen with your partner: whether they’re happy, whether they’ll leave; or whether you should stay or go.
You feel confused and wonder why it is that you can’t seem to make a decision that sticks and put the issue to rest.
You make plans for what you “should” do; but then you change your mind again - and nothing ever changes.
You just want to stop spiraling, feel confident, and move the heck on.
I can help, when more thinking can’t.
Yes, it’s possible to get clarity on the things you overthink.
Together, we’ll differentiate between useful thinking or worry, & unhelpful overthinking or “rumination.”
I’ll teach you methods, like Mindfulness and other evidence-based approaches, that you can apply when you’re stuck in distressing or unhelpful mind-spinning - so you’ll feel confident that you’ll know just what to do when it starts.
You’ll learn how to work with your own mind in a compassionate way, so you can finally have relief, clarity, and freedom from chronic overthinking or worry.
FAQs about therapy for anxiety/overthinking:
-
Rumination, or trying to figure out what you can’t figure out, is a kind of mental compulsion. It can be triggered for different reasons in different individuals. Often, it’s due to anxiety, fear, or a lack of self-trust.

As a specialist, I use methods that are consistent with research on rumination and anxiety. This includes Mindfulness, which helps you to exit anxiety and rumination cycles by coming back to present moment experiencing and working with your own mind in a way that does not perpetuate the usual patterns of suffering. I won’t just tell you to think positively, journal, or breathe. Most of the time, these things don’t help and can actually cause more harm than good. The methods that do work are usually much simpler.

You can schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation with me. This is usually enough time to see if I can help, and for you to decide if I’m the right therapist for you. If you click on a “free consultation” button, you’ll be taken right to my calendar to schedule. Or, feel free to email me.

Individuals tend to overthink the things that: 1. they really care about, AND 2. they have fears about. So, really it can be about anything; but what I tend to help my clients with are: overthinking/worrying about decisions or how they should navigate family/partner relationships, career issues, big changes in their lives, etc.
